This might be hard to hear, but when you don't com

When there’s a mismatch between how big your visio

When there’s a mismatch between how big your vision is and how much you’re willing to invest, you either end up stuck with a site that doesn’t do you justice, or you pay again to fix it properly later.

There's a difference between a developer who sees your website as just another deliverable, compared to a developer who sees it as a collaboration:
👉 taking the time to get to know you and your mission;
👉 fully understanding your goals so they can strategically design your website to help you reach them;
👉 caring just as much about you being 100% satisfied with the result as you do.

The first might do your website for cheap, but the pay-off would be too little for them to actually do the the deep work required to make sure your website aligns with your vision and your business goals.

And a website built without care, strategy, or genuine collaboration won’t convert, won’t communicate your value, and won’t support your growth - leaving you stuck with a website that doesn't do your justice or forcing you to invest in another developer 💔

I recently migrated Svenja’s (@reliablysvenja ) we

I recently migrated Svenja’s (@reliablysvenja ) website from Wix over to Squarespace and check out the result! I offer migrations from Wix free of charge, so this wasn’t a full website build meaning I didn’t spend as much time on it as I otherwise would - but it’s amazing to see how elevated it looks from just a few hours of work ✨

We used the same colour palette as the original site and all the same images and content, so only the layout and design was updated as part of this migration. Let me know what you think of the new design!

My impression from my first time using Squarespace is that it is really intuitive for people with no technical experience to pick up! If you’re used to other website builders like WordPress, it offers much less control which you might not love. But for anyone with no experience hoping to DIY, I’d recommend it ☺️

The pros:

- easy to learn
- really intuitive grid system which makes positioning and spacing super easy
- has ‘block’ templates to choose from, so you can have cool and interesting sections on your pages without needing to know anything about design or code

The cons:

- Customisation options are limited unless you know how to apply your own CSS - your site might end up looking pretty generic
- getting it to be fully responsive across all screen sizes is not easy
- they charge you monthly for your site (compared to WordPress which has no monthly charges)
